Text Message Terms
Effective 22 October 2026. Supersedes the version of 13 October 2026, which described three programs and no verification message.
These terms cover the DEF Rx text message programs. The DEF Rx platform is owned and operated by Hook & Haul LLC, a Texas limited liability company. In these terms, "DEF Rx," "we" and "us" mean that company.
The three programs
Every message comes from (888) 603-3379. Each program has its own agreement, and agreeing to one does not sign you up for the others.
1. Mileage reminders, for drivers. We ask you to log your truck's current mileage and engine hours. Mileage is what the platform uses to work out when a truck is due for service, so the reminder is the point at which the maintenance record gets kept up to date. We may also send a driver a message about a service appointment on a truck they are assigned to.
2. Service updates, for whoever raised a service request. Dispatch updates, technician arrival times and job completion notices, sent to the person who raised the job.
3. Work alerts, for technicians and staff. New-job and assigned-job alerts, job chat messages, shop booking alerts and coverage alerts, sent to people who work on jobs through the platform.
We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Ever. All three programs are operational only.
Verification codes
Separately from the three programs, when you add or change a mobile number in the platform we send one text to that number with a verification code. It is sent because you asked for it, at the moment you asked. It is not part of any program, it does not sign you up for anything, and we send no further messages to that number unless you then agree to one of the programs above.
How you join
You join a program by agreeing to receive its messages. The agreement box names the program, and we keep a record of each agreement with the date and time it was given, and the wording that was in force when you gave it.
Mileage reminders. You give your mobile number and agree on the Mile Check page. Or your employer, the carrier that operates the truck, enters your number on your behalf. When a carrier does that, the carrier is confirming to us that you have agreed to receive these messages. If your number was entered without your agreement, reply STOP to any message and tell us at support@defrx.com, and we will remove it.
Service updates. You agree when you submit a service request on defrx.com, or when you book through a shop's own booking page.
Work alerts. You agree when you finish setting up a technician or staff account.
Agreeing to receive mileage reminders or service updates is not a condition of buying anything from us. Work alerts are how jobs reach a technician or staff member. Stopping them does not stop work being assigned to you, and your employer will need to reach you another way.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message. That stops all messages to that number, across all three programs, not only the program the message came from. We will send one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and then nothing further.
You can also email support@defrx.com, or remove your number in the platform.
If you stop messages, the rest of DEF Rx keeps working. You will need to log mileage another way, you will need to check the platform for job updates, and your carrier or your employer may follow up with you directly.
To start again, reply START, or add your number back in the platform.
How to get help
Reply HELP to any message, or email support@defrx.com, or call (888) 603-3379.
Frequency
Mileage reminders. Up to two messages a week per truck, on the days your fleet manager sets. We do not send more than one mileage reminder per truck per day.
Service updates. Frequency varies with job activity. Expect a handful of messages over the life of a job.
Work alerts. Frequency varies with how much work you are offered and assigned.
When we send
Mileage reminders are sent between 5am and 9pm in your own local time zone. We use the time zone reported by the device you used when you agreed, and we will not send outside that window.
Service updates and work alerts follow the job rather than the clock. A job raised at night produces messages at night, because that is when the person waiting at the truck needs them.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Whatever your mobile plan charges for receiving a text message is between you and your carrier. DEF Rx does not charge you for these messages.
Carriers
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Delivery is not guaranteed. Do not rely on a text message as the only way you will learn that a truck is due for service. The platform shows the same information when you sign in.
Your information
We hold your mobile number, the record of your agreement with its date and time, the wording that was in force when you gave it, and, for mileage reminders, your device time zone. We hold it for the purpose of sending these messages and being able to show that you agreed to receive them.
Signed-in users can see their own agreement record on the Agreement Log page, and change their messaging settings on the SMS Preferences page.
We do not sell your mobile number. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not share it with anyone for marketing.
Your number is handled by the text message provider that delivers the messages for us, which acts on our instructions.
Separately from these programs, if a service request on your truck is assigned to an outside technician, the contact details the carrier nominated for that job are shown to that technician so they can find the truck and reach the person there. The carrier chooses that contact when raising the request. That sharing is part of the service and is described in our Privacy Policy. It is not part of any text message program, and stopping messages does not change it.
We keep the record of your agreement for 5 years after it ends, so that we can show it was given.
Changes
We will update these terms if any of the three programs changes, or if we add or retire a program, and the effective date above will change with it. If the change is material, we will tell you by text message or email before it takes effect.
