This page explains what you are agreeing to when you tick a consent box on DEF Rx, and what we do with the information you give us. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Text Message Terms.

1. Who is asking for your consent

The DEF Rx platform is operated by Hook & Haul LLC d/b/a DEF Rx, a Texas limited liability company at 5105 Jefferson St., Unit 1, Houston, TX 77023.

In this document, "DEF Rx," "we" and "us" mean that company. It holds your information and is the company you would deal with about it. Consent you give here covers messages, notifications and service coordination from DEF Rx and from the technicians dispatched to your job.

2. Text messages

DEF Rx runs three text message programs. All three are operational. We never send marketing or promotional texts.

Each program has its own agreement box and its own record. Agreeing to one does not sign you up for the others. Every message is sent from (888) 603-3379.

Mileage reminders, for drivers

We ask you to log your truck's current mileage and engine hours, which is what the platform uses to work out when a truck is due for service. Up to two messages a week per truck, on the days your fleet manager sets, and only between 5am and 9pm in your own local time zone.

You agree to these on the Mile Check page. Your carrier may instead enter your number and confirm to us that you agreed. Ticking the box records this agreement:

Service updates, for whoever raised a request

Dispatch updates, technician arrival times and job completion notices, sent to the person who raised the job. You agree to these when you submit a service request, or when you book through a shop's page. Ticking the box records this agreement:

Work alerts, for technicians and staff

New-job and assigned-job alerts, job chat messages, shop booking alerts and coverage alerts. You agree to these when you finish setting up a technician or staff account. Ticking the box records this agreement:

All three programs

Agreeing to receive mileage reminders or service updates is optional and is never a condition of buying anything from us. Work alerts are how jobs reach a technician or staff member, so stopping them does not stop the work being assigned. Your employer will need to reach you another way.

Message and data rates may apply, and mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for assistance. STOP applies to the number it is sent from, and stops every program on that number.

We do not sell your mobile number. We do not share it with advertisers, or with anyone for marketing.

3. Location

When you submit a roadside or on-site request, we ask for the location of the truck so that the right technician can be dispatched and routed to it. We use that location for dispatch, routing, estimated arrival and arrival verification. We do not use it for advertising.

If you are a technician, your own position is shown on a live map to the signed-in person who raised the request, from the moment you are dispatched until the job closes. It comes from your phone and only while location sharing is on for that job.

The Privacy Policy sets out how long location information is kept and who can see it.

4. Photos, notes and signatures

Technicians record job photographs, service notes, mileage and a signature when a job closes. These become part of the permanent job record and are used for service history, warranty support, dispute resolution and billing. We keep them for seven years, because a carrier may need the maintenance record long after the truck is gone.

5. Email

We send email tied to your activity: service confirmations, job recaps, invoices, invitations and account notices. These are transactional rather than marketing, so there is no marketing list to unsubscribe from. If you want to stop receiving them, email support@defrx.com.

6. Withdrawing consent

Reply STOP to stop text messages. For anything else, email support@defrx.com.

Withdrawing messaging consent does not cancel scheduled service. We will contact you by phone or email instead.

7. Version history

Every published revision is listed here with its effective date. Older versions stay on the record, so you can see exactly what wording was in force when you agreed.
